Guest Information

Lake Huites is located on the El Fuerte River, in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, approximately 50 miles east of the coastal city of Los Mochis.

We will meet your flight at the Los Mochis International Airport or El Fuerte landing strip (if you are flying in by private plane) and drive you to the Lodge right by the lake, where you’ll be welcomed by our friendly staff and served snacks and refreshments.

Clothing

Dress is always casual. Always bring a rain suit. Shorts are fine when the weather permits. Three changes of clothes is probably enough. Always bring long pants and long sleeve shirts in case the mosquitos are around. Polarized sun glasses, a good cap and sun block are a must!!

Bass Fishing Tackle

Rod and reel combo of three rods per angler is allowed in Mexico. Pick your medium heavy to heavy bait casters spooled with 15 lb and 20 lb clear mono or fluorocarbon. If you plan on flipping in the brush or trees come with 25 lb test mono or go to a braided line of your choice. If spinning rods and reels are what you are familiar with bring those spooled with 15 lb or 20 lb test if possible. Also bring along enough line to re-spool at least one reel.

Remember you will be catching very large and super strong bass and most likely, your personal best bass ever so…

come prepared!

Guides and Boats

Guides are all native to the lake and speak enough English to make your fishing day go smoothly. All guides are always clean, neat and courteous, your guide will do his best to ensure you are on top of the biggest fish all of the time. Guides usually like to fish some of the time off of the back of the boat. It is your option, if you would rather they do not fish at all.

Boats are 18′ foot fiberglass with 60 horsepower engines. They are plenty fast and give a smooth ride as well. They have lots of foot room and are equipped with swivel seats, trolling motors and fully charged batteries.
