Originally stocked with pure strain Florida largemouth bass in the late 1990's, the Mexican Government has designated this lake to be the first "Catch & Release" lake in the country. Making sure that this lake becomes the most famous bass fishery in the world.
Mexico's Lake Huites (pronounced Wee-Tez) is currently the hottest bass lake in North America. A 30,000-acre 'man made' reservoir with miles of excellent structures where the bass thrive. The bass are grow at a faster rate than the average growth rate in the United States (up to 2 pounds per year). This Trophy Bass lake is teeming with protein-rich tilapia, shad and crayfish, which the bass have taken a definite liking to. Anglers are catching in excess of 60 bass a day and 10 pound plus bass are being caught on a regular basis. The fish are aggressive and will take an assortment of lures, including: swimbait, rattle traps, deep divers, crankbait and just about anything else you throw at them.
